What's Your Birthday Cake?

• My birthday came and passed a while back. I'm not really the picky type when it comes to special meals and desserts. You can make me anything or bring me anywhere. As long as there is good food, I'm satisfied.
  
  I go home for a birthday dinner each year. For the first time in several birthdays I knew precisely what type of cake I wanted. Mom asked and I told her vanilla sponge cake. 
  
  My mom's sponge cake kicks butt. It's creamy, with sweet and soft icing and vanilla pudding stuffed inside.
  
  I arrived early to watch my my mom spread a thick layer of vanilla pudding between the two layers of cake, seal the outside with a coating of vanilla icing, and set sliced strawberries around the top.
  
  The following morning my first thought jumped to cake. Birthday cake for breakfast makes it feel like the previous day never ended.
